Download PassagePlus and demo charts

You can download PassagePlus here and try it out free of charge for as long as you like. Until you purchase a serial number it operates in demo mode, which means that it can only open the five demo ARCS charts and four demo Seafarer RNC charts that you can also download here. This should nevertheless give you a good idea of most of the features. The demo charts are fully-featured ARCS / Seafarer RNC charts, but they are out of date and should not be used for actual navigation.

System requirements

PassagePlus is a Universal binary running natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macs. It runs on Mac OS X 10.3.9 and later on PowerPC and Mac OS X 10.4.4 and later on Intel.

Users have run it successfully on machines, both PowerPC and Intel, ranging

from an old PowerBook 400MHz with 320MB of RAM to a MacBook Pro 17-inch.

A typical chart when opened at full resolution in memory is around 80MB. Thus machines with small amounts of RAM may struggle. The 320MB machine mentioned above has been shown to be fine, but we are not sure how well it would cope with only 256MB (or less).

Purchase

A PassagePlus serial number costs US$70 (plus VAT where applicable). Entering the serial number takes it into full mode, which means you can open any chart you buy from a retailer under the ARCS 'Skipper', ARCS ‘Navigator’, Seafarer RNC 'Chart' or Seafarer RNC 'Update' services. You can also open any chart in the NZMariner series (available free of charge).

To make a purchase, select 'Purchase PassagePlus' from the 'PassagePlus' menu inside the application. This will take you through the purchase procedure, handled for us by eSellerate. Your serial number will be emailed to you shortly afterwards. Please make sure that you make the purchase from the machine on which you intend to use the charts, because the serial number will only work on that machine.

Purchase charts

We do not sell charts. ARCS and Seafarer RNC charts can be purchased from retailers. NZMariner charts can be downloaded free of charge. See this FAQ page for details.
